Workshops · Cohorts · Classes — Digital Equity & Everyday AI

The digital world leaves people behind. I bring them with it.

Plain, patient, judgment-free classes that teach the technology policy never taught — to older adults, people in reentry, and people in recovery.

I'm Mackenzie Colvin — founder of Pivot Point Consulting and a Certified Digital Navigator. I run digital-equity cohorts and AI & digital-skills workshops that make new technology knowable for the people it was never built for. And with 15+ years of lived experience, I bring a cultural understanding most providers can't.

My core work

Digital Equity & Skills

Closing the digital divide for the people modern life leaves behind — delivered as cohorts, workshops, and one-to-one navigation, inside the programs that already serve them.

Digital Equity Cohorts

Grant-funded, free-to-participants digital-literacy cohorts — everyday organizing, portal navigation, scam-spotting, and everyday-AI literacy. Delivered on-site inside partner programs in 4-, 6-, or 10-week tiers.

A funder or partner sponsors the cohort — participants attend free.

AI & Digital-Skills Workshops

Hands-on group classes for communities, staff, and families — AI 101, résumés and interviews, online safety, and the everyday tools modern life now runs on. Book one class or a full series.

We don't teach code. We teach judgment — empowerment, not fear.

Digital Navigation — Clients & Staff

One-to-one device setup, telehealth access, benefits portals, and digital-literacy coaching for the people you serve — plus practical digital-skills training for frontline staff.

When access goes digital, the people without skills go without.

Patient portals, benefits applications, job boards, telehealth, banking — modern life is digital-first, and it assumes skills millions of adults were never taught. In a rural county where broadband and devices are already scarce, a missed telehealth link gets logged as a no-show and a portal someone can't log into becomes a lapsed benefit. The gap between "has the skills" and "doesn't" quietly decides who keeps their housing, their care, and their job.

~35%

Berkshire County's recidivism rate — among the highest in Massachusetts. Disengagement is the common thread, whether it's a missed telehealth link or a missed court date. Culturally-aligned digital equity and peer navigation are how we close it.

The difference

Why Pivot — the cultural piece nobody else brings.

Anyone can run a slideshow. Getting these communities to show up and keep going takes understanding why the systems failed them first — and meeting them with lived experience and cultural alignment. That's also where our recovery & reentry navigation lives, delivered inside partner programs under their supervision.

How we can work together

Flexible engagement structures designed to fit within your organization's existing frameworks.

Sponsored Cohorts

A funder or partner covers a 4–10 week digital-equity cohort; participants attend free.

Single Classes

Book one workshop — AI 101, scam-spotting, portals — for the people you serve.

Weekly Program Blocks

Dedicated digital-navigation hours embedded within your facility.

Subcontracted Navigation

Hourly recovery & reentry coverage to fill gaps in your roster.

Pricing

$1,500–$4,800 / cohort

Digital-equity cohorts and workshops are grant-eligible under the Digital Equity Act & WIOA — a funder covers the cost and participants attend free. Single classes start at $225; recovery & reentry navigation is available at $45/hr, subcontracted.

Why choose Pivot

Credentials are the floor. Cultural understanding is the difference.

Plenty of providers can run a slideshow. What sets this work apart is knowing why these communities were shut out in the first place — and meeting them with the lived experience and cultural alignment that earns real engagement. The certifications back it up.

Work with me

Two ways to bring this to your community.

Digital-equity cohorts and workshops are grant-eligible — so a funder can cover the cost and participants attend free.

For funders

Sponsor a cohort and I handle the rest — curriculum, delivery, materials, and outcome reporting. Grant-aligned with the Digital Equity Act, WIOA, and local foundations.

For referring organizations

Enroll a cohort of the people you serve, or book a workshop for your staff and families. I deliver inside your program, on your schedule, alongside your existing services.

Ready to bridge the gap?

Let's talk about bringing digital equity — and the cultural alignment that makes it stick — to the people you serve.
